Creating value from waste by developing technology-led solutions, which create an economic incentive for a responsible society and a sustainable environment.
To create Ecologically Sustainable and Economically Viable waste-management solutions for a circular economy.
The Madon Group’s guiding principle is Socially Responsible Capitalism. A business exists to make money, but it should also contribute to the greater good of society.
Madon Applied Sciences' mandate is to design, engineer and implement faecal sludge and septage management solutions, focussed on the last mile of the sanitation supply chain.
These are in the form of Faecal Sludge Treatment Plants (FSTPs) for the treatment and disposal of septage; digesters for utilisation of sewage sludge and improved energy efficiency of STPs, and Integrated Waste Treatment Plants for the real estate sector which process all forms of organic waste on site, with significant energy recovery.
MAS' work overlaps with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 6, which states: "Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all."
Madon Agri Tech's mandate is to create an ecosystem to support animal husbandry and livestock farming in India. Presently, India has no organised form of carcass disposal.
Rendering technology is recycling in its truest sense, dealing with the diposal of animal carcasses, while also providing the farmer with a supplementary income. Further, the resources recovered from rendered carcasses provide a sustainable means of organic farming.
MAT's work also overlaps the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 2, which aims to: "End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture."
Together, MAS and MAT utilise environmental biotechnology, thereby working towards a cleaner environment and a better tomorrow for coming generations. These solutions have the potential to generate significant employment in rural India and urban India. Given the scope and scale of the challenges of faecal sludge and septage management and carcass processing, these interventions will help India take a significant step, aligned with the UN SDG 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.
Madon Applied Sciences LLP is recognised by the Dept. of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) under the aegis of its Start-Up India campaign.
MAS received its certificate of recognition from DIPP in January 2018.
MAS has been part of the Technical Advisory Committee to Govt of India for its GOBAR-dhan bio-energy initiative, which aims to promote widespread use of biofuels.
